We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Private Chef to provide exceptional culinary services for a family within a luxury, fully staffed private residence in Knightsbridge. This is a unique role due to the healthy work-life balance: working a very flexible 40-hour week within a team of 3 chefs, catering for a family of 4 plus nannies. The schedule is organised between the chefs so you can ensure your shifts suit your personal life week by week. You will work in a closed kitchen with little client interaction, which suits some chefs more than others. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for food, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to create customised menus that cater to the family’s individual preferences. Key Responsibilities: • Plan and prepare customised breakfast, lunch and dinner menus tailored to the client’s dietary preferences and requirement• Manage all aspects of kitchen operations, including inventory control, ordering produce from trusted suppliers and maintaining cleanliness• Work alongside the other chefs and wider household team and foster a collaborative team environment• Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain hygiene standards across all food preparation areas• Serve meals in an elegant and professional manner, ensuring presentation aligns with client expectations• Adapt recipes and cooking techniques to accommodate special dietary needs (including gluten intolerance)• Maintain organised records of food inventories, menus, and meal plans• Occasional work in the secondary, weekend residence in Surrey• Occasional travel to work across Europe, ski resorts and yacht (1-2 times per year) Ideal Candidate: • Proven experience in private cheffing environments• Extensive knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in hygiene management• Strong organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment• Exceptional attention to detail in food presentation and service delivery• Previous experience working in a private household is highly desirable• Ability to adapt quickly to client preferences while maintaining high-quality standards• Good communication skills to liaise effectively with clients and team members Package • Hours: around 40 hours per week• Shifts: A weekly rota with 2 x other chefs, working shifts either 7am-3pm, 2pm-10pm, or weekends 8am-10pm (if working double shifts over the weekend, you have 3 days off in the week)• Opportunity to travel across Europe with the family• Potential for additional time off when the family are travelling• Salary: £50,000 – £55,000 (DOE) Job Status: LiveResponsible Consultant: Philippa Smith More live roles are available on the recruiter's website.
